The first day of the summer term was a lovely sunny day but the children soon discovered sheets of ice on all the plastic surfaces when they went outside. They took some of the ice into the sun and melted it making comparisons with the ice left in the shade ..

One Hundred Day

We had lots of one hundred activities on 'one hundred' day.
The children had a real footballer in (who haad won a match against Wayne Rooney!!!!) who helped the children to run one hundred metres.
In addition to this the children bounced one hundred bounces, stepped one hundred steps and moved one hundred balls.
We thought they would do one activity each but all the children went on to do all of the activities.Such commitment!

More Pancake Day

We  had a tasting session at preschool on pancake day. The children tried to tell the difference between sweet and sour -------with some rather mixed reactions!!!!!!!        We then ate the pancakes the children had mixed earlier . They had made a tasty mix with not too many 'crunchy 'bits!!.The morning finished with pancake races in the hall.

Pancake Day

Yesterday was pancake day
Four children broke eggs into the mixture like proffessionals .
Others put some real 'welly' into mixing the mixture.

Saturday was the day of the Valentines Disco. The children all looked fantastic and they all danced and danced. I spotted some who really could be the disco dancers of the future !
You parents almost seem to have as much fun as the children. Thanks to the Mums that sorted this one out.

The afternoon group also had a lovely time and we saw nearly as many animals as in the morning.
The children loved the Tiger Cubs best of all.
It got very cold by the time we were going hoe but the children were all very good even when they were tired enough for the pace to slow as we got near the entrance.

It was a lot colder by the time we left but thechilden were so good although a little tired I would guess from the speed we ambled to the exit.

We had a really cold day for our trips to the zoo on the last day of the half term.
The morning group were there as soon as the zoo opened and I thunk the animals must have just been let out as we saw so many animals that usually hide away. We saw the lions and the tiger cubs,we saw the penguins swimming and the Jaguar. We even saw the Sloath that had just arrived the day before.
. The children loved the chimps as usual and we watched the baby elephants frolic in the sand. I think we all had a wonderful time.

On the Thursday before we finished for the half term we all had lunch together---Mums and children. The children were very excited to be performing their Ring Rap for you all. They love to do this and really get swinging to the beat. They performed it for you very well and each child wanted a turn. Hope you enjoyed!!!

A dispute over the tunnel on the train track brought the timers into action. However instead of these two boys playing until their time ran out they became engrossed in watching the three timers flow through and guessing which would be fastest and slowest. 1

Out came the 'Gloop ' today.  Lots of fun was had by all those brave enough to touch the rather strange stuff!!!
The afternoon group are so good at writing in Chinese and at eating with chop sticks and at dancing under the dragon that I think they may really be Chinese!

Stop/Go Signs

Today at Rising Fives the morning children made Stop /Go signs. They independantly cut their shapes and wrote their two words. Well done all you!
A parcel arrived today from Mr Morrison.
Your vouchers gave us a new spade, lots of new aprons and a new set of drawers for the outside area.
Many thanks Mums for all those vouchers.

A cold day today!

It was a cold day today (16/1/12)
Our weather boy filled two plaes with water One with hot water and one with cold water. He kept his eyes on them until they froze.
The cold water froze thickly and quickly while the hot water plate .just had a skim of ice over it.
You were a real scientist today weather boy!
