Three Little Pigs

Today at Preschool we acted out the story of The Three Little Pigs'These pictures show Mama Pig looking after her three little pigs before they leave to make a life of their own.

You will also see a picture of three little pigs building their home ,and also a picture of two very frightened pigs as a fearsome wolf blows down their home. The last picture show a weary wolf trying hard to blow down a house of bricks.

Emergent Artists

Look carefully at this board of art work. Suddenly the children in preschool are beginning to spend time being creative by themselves. Some of these pictures are brilliant. How we wish we had taken a picture like this at the beginning of the year to show the contrast.

Family names at R'Fives

Last Friday we began to learn to recognise our 'family' or surnames. We made these family shields with our family names on. We talked about what our family long ago may have done to get our family names.

One teacher is called Green and we wondered if her family lived in a field --while another teacher is called Deponeo so some children wondered if long ago her family had a lovely pony. We talked about each childs name then for PE we had a battle between two families after building walls to protect ourselves.

It was a close battle but we reckon the Deponeos were probably the winners--just.l

All About Me ----Marie

At Preschool on Monday Marie told us all about herself when she was a little girl. She told us about how she used to collect Mangoes from the garden for her breakfast and how she used to get her water from the well. Marie brought in some plantains which are large bananas which she had fried to make a lovely snack. This preschooler just kept on wanting more.

Dragon and Pig dance for the Mums

Last Friday the preschoolers danced a Chinese New Year dance for the Mums and Dads. It was very exciting and we think the swirling creatures frightened several of the Mums.We certainly had fun and one Dad suggested it was better than being in work.
